It’s recently been confirmed that if you install solar panels for your home you will help in the fight against Global Warming. Ohio State University (among others) has done much research in this matter and their head Physicist Robert Davis is hoping that individuals will follow suit. The university itself has been given a grant of over eighteen and a half million dollars to build a solar cell development centre. Great news.
But NOT such great news is that eighteen and a half million dollars. The biggest stumbling block which makes consumers avoid solar energy is the cost. However, here in the UK there may just be help on hand with a company that takes advantage of a Government scheme called FIT. There are conditions about the way your roof slopes or is facing, but the solar panels for your home will be fitted completely free.
There are things you can do to reduce Global Warming. Fight back by using energy saving light bulbs in your home. Think of installing a Solar water heater which may well save you as much as £200 per year or more. Unplug your toasters and battery chargers when not in use and turn off your TV. Wash your clothes in cold water; install low-flow shower heads to use less hot water and turn your video game consoles completely off. They use nearly as much energy when they’re off as when they’re on! Finally, fit solar panels for your home. You’ll feel you’re doing your bit.
